To color the rocks, here is the method :

Choose 3 colors : one light, one middle and one darker. The middle one is to fill each stone.

Select stones that do not touch themselves, like that :

Add a new layer
Effect / 3D Effects / Cutout
vertical : -2
horizontal : -2
opacity : 100%
blur : 0
shadow color : the darkest one
Do not deselect

Add a new layer
Effect / 3D Effects / Cutout
vertical : 1
horizontal : 2
opacity : 100%
blur : 0
shadow color : the lightest one
Deselect

Repeat the 2 same steps with those 2 series of selections :

Merge the layers.
You have that :

You're done.
You can now personalize your work as you want.
